Document Storage

Gaining peace of mind is very important but maintaining that peace is a battle within its self. So you’ve written your Will and completed your Trust and PoA, and you should be congratulated for doing so. You’ve made an active decision to cater for your loved ones in a very real and beneficial way. Ongoing maintenance though can be crucial and while we respect that occasionally, you will wish to keep the documents yourself, we offer our document storage package which should prove interesting with ongoing support. We have experience with dealing on behalf of clients who have encountered some of the following problems:

  • Flooding, Fire damage, theft or even forgetfulness can jeopardise everything you’ve implemented, should something happen and the documents are lost or your relatives can’t find them – if there is no original, you are effectively dying intestate as a signed copy will not be accepted.
  • Our circumstances can change at the drop of a hat – a new child comes into our family, there are disputes, there are changes in property values, addresses, item bequests – a completely non exhaustive list of issues which although may not invalidate your Will, cause the balance of the document created to fall or cut someone out of your Will that you would like to benefit.
  • Title Deeds are an essential part of any estate, and their location will differ depending on a mortgage provider or Solicitor, they may even be located in your attic! It makes the estate far more difficult to wind up when important documents are kept in separate locations.

We understand the difficulties of dealing with documentation and as such, offer a competitive aftercare storage package. For a minimal annual fee, we store all applicable documentation in our storage facility, from Wills to Title Deeds. This ensures your documents are safe and stored in one place.

The other benefit is that with the storage package, we allow for a free update once a year, which means you have ongoing care and support and a constant, friendly reminder to keep your Will up to date which is essential.
